To empower families navigating the complex and emotional journey of caring for aging parents, the South Pasadena Senior Center hosted “What to Do About Mom & Dad: Caring for Aging Parents” on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Sponsored by the Senior Citizens’ Foundation of South Pasadena and the Harold & Alice Mgrublian Endowment, the free educational workshop provided information, resources, and support for adults assisting their aging loved ones.

● Advance Directives and End of Life Planning presented by Kathleen Coatta, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Huntington Hospital’s Senior Care Network
● “Having the Conversation” with Your Parents presented by Brenda Shorkend, Certified Aging Life Care Professional and Geriatric Care Manager
● Mentation, Mobility, Medication, Multi-Morbidity & What Matters Most (The 5 M’s) presented by Dr. Anthony Hou, geriatric and palliative care physician at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
