Our Mission

The Foundation was formed in 2006 to serve as the fundraising arm for the South Pasadena Senior Center. Each year the Foundation reaches out to the community to solicit donations for needed equipment, programs, and improvements at the Senior Center. The Foundation has 501(c)3 status and donations are tax deductible. The Foundation is volunteer-led and run, and 100% of our fund-raising efforts are for the Senior Center. The Foundation provides the critical extra funding for programs and items that the Senior Center is unable to afford on its own very limited budget.

We are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful senior center in South Pasadena. From its inception in 1982, the South Pasadena Senior Center has become a community focal point and a “one stop shop” for services and activities. Staffed by city employees, the Senior Center’s mission is to offer a place where older adults and persons with disabilities can meet with one another to fulfill their social, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. The Center provides holistic and enriching education, nutritious meals, and critical transportation to seniors in and around South Pasadena. It provides a sense of community for some of our most vulnerable seniors. The Center’s programs are designed to enhance and support senior citizen independence and encourage involvement in and with the community.
