Meet the Board
ALEXANDRIA LEVITT, PRESIDENT
Alexandria Levitt is a gerontologist and longtime resident of South Pasadena. She is very familiar with the many challenges facing us as we get older and the remarkable connection between health (both mental and physical) and social engagement. Her work on the Senior Commission and now the Foundation is focused on educating the community on important issues in aging and making sure our most vulnerable residents are safe. She has been a Girl Scout Leader, PTA President and served on the Senior Commission for 6 years.
SHIREEN CHANG, VICE PRESIDENT
Shireen Chang and her family have been residents of South Pasadena since 1983. Her three children have gone to Oneonta Nursey School through High School. She has served on the Board, in PTAs, Council PTA, Chinses-American Club, Library Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, Public Safety Commission, and Senior Commission. Presently, she enjoys serving God and church, the Friends’ Bookstore, Restoration Concerts, and the Senior Citizens Foundation.
PATRICK KIRCHEN, TREASURER
Patrick Kirchen is a resident of South Pasadena. His professional career has been in the restaurant industry, most recently with his own project, Crossings, which was located on Mission Street in South Pasadena from 2013-2019. He currently owns a wine wholesale distribution company and is also a volunteer soccer coach for Loyola High School. Prior to joining the Senior Citizens Foundation of South Pasadena’s Board, he was part of the Board of Directors for Professional Child Development Associates in Pasadena. He is excited to help build awareness of the wonderful resources the South Pasadena Senior Center provides to seniors in our community.
LARRY MCGRAIL, SECRETARY
Larry McGrail has been a resident of South Pasadena for 45 years, and served over 30 years as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney. He has been a board member/commissioner for the Blue Line Committee, South Pasadena Cultural Heritage Commission, South Pasadena Preservation Foundation, Oneonta Club, and the Oneonta Club Foundation. He is an Army veteran, and a former member of the U.S. Selective Service Commission.
MARY CHAMBERS, BOARD MEMBER
Mary Chambers is an LA-based organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, and communications consultant with special expertise in launching and leading community, philanthropic, and corporate organizations, funder collaboratives, and peer learning circles. An attorney with extensive experience working with philanthropic, nonprofit, corporate, government, and civic leaders across the nation, Mary is a long-time South Pasadena resident and an unofficial ambassador for the South Pasadena Senior Center’s fitness classes.
KARIE REYNOLDS, BOARD MEMBER
Karie Reynolds is a Strategic Communications Consultant with broad experience connecting internal and external messaging to organizational strategy. Her career spans special events fundraising, public relations, and digital marketing for nonprofits and businesses, including several serving seniors and their families. A long-time volunteer for South Pasadena schools, she is now serving the community as the Publicity Chair for the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee and the Chair of the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Board.
